Did you know that Chemeketa Faculty have access to Virtual Reality technology?
The Chemeketa Health Sciences Department has multiple Meta Quest 3 VR headsets that are used by the Nursing program to provide students with virtual simulation learning experiences.
In Bldg 8 on the Salem campus, a dedicated space with an HDTV display allows students to project their VR experiences for others to observe.
Explore VR Simulations for your Curriculum
VR software simulations and applications offer a wide range of opportunities to enhance teaching and learning. From exploring the “Secret Annex” in the Anne Frank House VR experience to witnessing the historic Apollo 11 mission, VR can transport students to different times and places. They can also design virtual spaces in Arkio, learn about physics and electronics in the Gravity Lab, and explore apps in various subjects such as Arts and Music, History & Social Studies, Sciences, Geography, Health and Fitness, English and Language Arts, and Mathematics.
Visit the Meta for Education content library to view all of the available apps.
Reservations in the VR Studio
Academic programs and faculty interested in utilizing VR technology in their curriculum are encouraged to contact kelsie.powell@chemeketa.edu in Nursing & Health Sciences to inquire about availability and use of this equipment.
