
Digital materials have become an essential part of the higher education experience and with the new Title II Rules, we have until April 2026 to ensure that our materials and websites are accessible and usable for all – including students with disabilities. Accessibility also promotes student success as many of the techniques that improve accessibility also improve course quality and make materials easier for everyone to use.
So, now is the time to act – are you ready to make your documents inclusive and accessible to everyone? We’re excited to announce our new online course, “Master the Art of Accessible Documents,” designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to create accessible content using popular software!
In this asynchronous course, you’ll learn the fundamental principles of document accessibility and how to apply them in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Google Suites. Each module features in-depth lessons, demonstrations, and a quiz to test your understanding.

- Module 1: What is Accessibility and Why Is It Important – Understand the core concepts of accessibility, its significance, and the impact it has on various users.
- Module 2: General Accessibility Principles – Dive into the universal guidelines and techniques for creating accessible content across different platforms.
- Module 3: Microsoft Word – Learn specific tools and methods within Microsoft Word to ensure your documents meet accessibility standards.
- Module 4: PowerPoint – Discover how to create accessible presentations using PowerPoint’s built-in features and best practices.

Each module ends with a quiz. To successfully complete the module, you must score at least 80%. Passing all five modules will earn you the prestigious “Accessible Document Badge”, showing your commitment to making information available to everyone.
